BROKE OUT IN: What a Girl Wants, as a girl searching for her father — who turns out to be a British politician (Colin Firth).
WHY HER She's the Girl Next Door. Consistently affable, Bynes is a brand in and of herself, with a TV show (The Amanda Show), a coming-of-age comedy (What a Girl Wants), and a blockbuster musical (Hairspray) under her belt.
WHAT'S NEXT Apparently, she's busy being 21: for now, nothing's lined up.
"It's just good television. You watch it and you see people kind of put themselves out there, and it's kind of a little bit like a car crash where you're like [she winces], but you have to watch. But some people are amazing. And seeing Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson and all these great artists that I love come out of it, you see that it's just a great opportunity for artists to sort of get noticed."
I happened to have been there at the studio as the interview was taking place, and I thought it was interesting to hear some of the comments that were mentioned during the interview. At one point she had mentioned that the roles that she is currently involved in are adult roles without the risque behavior, of course. Now what was interesting about this soundbite was that she was purposely sat behind the news desk for the interview because she was wearing a mini-skirt that morning and the crew was concerned about the camera shots. Who could blame the crew for wanting to avoid an accidental camera shot?
However, despite the unique choice of clothing that she had worn for the interview I must admit that she seems like an extremely nice person. Marc (the anchorman) had mentioned in passing during the interview about her be ultra nice with his daughter who was also at the studio, but it's true. She was hanging out in the hallway and was just hanging out with his daughter. While she was at the station she did appear to be super cool and down to Earth with everyone, which is refreshing to see with the celebrities.
After her appearance on the show and seeing her handle herself behind the scenes I must admit that Amanda seems to be a really cool person. I do agree with Marc's point of talking about how well she's able to keep her life [from] run[ning] a muck like certain other young celebrities have done. It's not like I am attempting to mention Britney's bipolar disorder or anything. (Oops!) She's funny and personable, and has won me over as an impressed movie fan.
I don't work out that often but when I do, I do the treadmill for 40 minutes and that's about it. I'm heavier than I've ever been right now but I'm blossoming into womanhood. I would never have the dedication like Jessica Alba; I wish I did -- my body does not look like hers. I would like to have more muscle and be cut. But I think your body will be what it's going to be. If I had to be in a bikini all the time I'd be doing the ab exercises. I'm not so obsessed with it.
Krista Keeney, a 21-year-old from South Point, recently had a nice weekend filled with a road trip, shopping and a chance to hang out with new friends.
For most, just that would be enough. But for Keeney, the road trip was a whirlwind trip to New York City, the shopping was a spree at Manhattan's Steve & Barry's and the new friend was "Hairspray" and "Sydney White" actress Amanda Bynes.
"I had food in my mouth when I found out, and I almost choked I was so surprised," said Keeney, the daughter of Terry Keeney and Colleen Keeney. "I never thought I would actually win something like this."
For two days, she explored New York City, went on a shopping spree with Bynes and even garnered a photo shoot for the February issue of CosmoGIRL!.
“I’ve got a new puppy, so I’ve just been picking up all the poo and taking [it] out to the trash and flushing and cleaning,” Bynes told Pop Tarts. “That’s definitely not glamorous, but I do it because I love him. I’ll do anything for him.”
