Amanda is featured on this weekend's cover of USA Weekend, a free magazine included in Sunday's newspaper. In the article she talks about her holiday traditions.

In my family, we make a lot of our gifts," says the Nickelodeon-bred actress and star of this year's "Sydney White" and the hit "Hairspray." "I like to draw, so I'll decorate a plate, or I'll do an oil painting. It just means more when you make a gift from scratch.

The article also says that Dear is the fastest selling clothing line at Steve and Barry's since its release in August.

Snowboarding is Amanda's winter sport of choice

From OK Magazine:

“I've actually only snowboarded once but I've skied seven times,” she tells OK! at the opening of the new Burton store in West Hollywood. “I look forward to snowboarding in the future. It's a cooler sport."

She may want to prepare her body for it though. Declaring herself to be “not athletic,” Amanda confesses she’s not often found breaking a sweat at the gym.

“I try but not really,” she says. “I try to walk instead of drive. Yoga if I can.”

As for her career, there may be another musical in sight for the 21-year-old if she gets her wishes.

“I would love to work with Baz Luhrmann or Tim Burton. They’re so creative and artsy. Baz is exciting.”

Palm Springs International Film Festival Award

The ensemble cast of Hairspray have added another award to their trophey case. The cast will be honored with the Ensemble Performance Award from the Palm Springs International Film Festival for outstanding "chemistry between cast members and their overall performance as a group".

Cast members, including Rising Star award winner Nikki Blonsky, will accept the award January 5th at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Coachella Valley.
