Good girl gone bad?

E!'s The Awful Truth has some shocking gossip regarding Amanda at the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Party:

Moving on to another quasi-questionable nascent legal babe: Amanda Bynes. "I'm on the list as the 'Good Girl,' so I guess I'm getting that nod,” she told us. "I like it…I'll take whatever I can get! I guess I just feel pressure now to remain a good girl. What if I want to be like Rihanna and be a good girl gone bad? Will I still be nominated for this honor?”

Yes, darling, most definitely yes. So, get to it, already!

Just don't expect to see Amanda, who recently turned 21, slamming shots. "Actually, I don't like the taste of alcohol anyway, so I'm all good with that,” she demurely dished.

Surely the gal has some vices? "Sugar…like anything that's bad for me,” Amanda offered. "Ice cream and cookies!”

Okay, so it wasn't that shocking.

Amanda to be honored as Rising Star

The Turks & Caicos Film Festival will honor Amanda with a Rising Star Award on Saturday, October 20! Marc Shaiman of Hairspray will be honored with the Composer’s Excellence Award as well.

Hollywood's Hot Good Girl

Amanda Bynes name Hollywood's Hot "Good Girl" from Us Weekly on Wednesday!

Image Hosted by PicturePush

Amanda Bynes, in a sophisticated dress by Herve Leger, assured reporters that she really is 21, having celebrated the milestone back in April, but that she's "not a big clubber." The Sydney White star said she was "very honored" to be named as Hollywood's Hot "Good Girl," and is scheming how to get back on it again for next year! "I was very excited and I'll try to continue being 'good,' but I don't know!"

I also added more pictures from the event which you can view here.

In my opinion, it's about time a magazine recognizes Amanda for her hard work. Did you guys realize that none of the major teen and young adult magazines barely or didn't even mention Amanda in Sydney White?

'Sydney White' poisoned at the box office

Sydney White came in at a disappointing #6 at the weekend box office, making a tiny $5,323,000. Resident Evil made $24 million and Good Luck Chuck netted $14 million.

This is Amanda's lowest starring role opening ever. The film might barely make enough money to cover its $16.5 million budget.

If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to try to catch a screening at your local theater. I saw on it Saturday and I really liked it. It's one of Amanda's best and funniest movies so far. There are even some emotional bits. It's nothing offensive like in other comedies, only a movie to make you laugh and feel good. People in the theater seemed to really enjoy it so you don't want to miss it. Go see it!

Teen Hollywood Interview

TeenHollywood: In the movie, there is a website that rates who is hot and not at college. Do you think that's harmful?

Amanda: I think that's harmful. It's definitely shown [in the film] that my character doesn't really care about it but Rachel Witchburn, the evil witch character, does care about it. I think that's a perfect example of why she and I don't get along. We wanted to really prove that there are those girls out there but you don't need to be part of that to succeed.

TeenHollywood: Have you talked to Nikki Blonsky since Hairspray?

Amanda: Oh yeah. I love Nikki. We talk all the time. She is filming a movie called Harold in her hometown. She's doin' great. I'm really excited for her.

TeenHollywood: This film is sort of 'revenge of the dorks' so do you consider yourself a dork and would you date a dork?

Amanda: Yes, I do consider myself a dork, definitely. Growing up I had a huge collection of "Archie" comic books and I would definitely date a dork. I'm actually attracted to dorky guys. I find them really charming when they aren't dorky to the point of being socially awkward. I feel like charm is the most attractive quality.

About.com Interview

Amanda sat down with About.com for an interview about Sydney White and Dear.

There’s a theme that flows through your movies. You always put positive messages out for younger girls. Is that something that when you’re looking at a script, you’re looking for that kind of a message?

“Definitely. When I first got the script it was actually…it was too sweet. There wasn’t enough edgy comedy in it, so we had a big talk with the writers and the director. Then it came back after that initial discussion and it came back way too raunchy, to the point where I was actually offended. It was jokes I don’t feel comfortable saying. There was like potential nudity and all this different stuff that I just felt like, ‘No, I just feel like that’s fine if that’s in movies, but I just don’t want it to be in a movie that I’m in, at this time at least.’ And for that type of movie it didn’t make sense. It was just supposed to be a raunchy college comedy, and I just found it to be crass. So after that we went and we re-wrote it from that point and took it down a little, and that’s where it ended up.”

With the success of Hairspray are you open to doing another musical?

“I would love to. I have been approached by a couple of people for a certain musical that I can’t mention, but I would love to. We’ll see how that works out.”

How do you manage to stay so normal, so grounded, when you live in such an insane world?

“Thank you. Well I guess I’d say I have no real interest in being scandalous. That’s not my way of trying to get fame. I don’t need fame. As long as I get to work and do the things I love, I don’t know why I really need excess fame. I think it’s actually harmful, so that’s, I guess, that’s my reasoning.”

And you stay grounded by remaining connected to people you’ve known for quite a while?

“Yeah, exactly. My parents are humble and my brother and sister so I don’t have people who, you know… I’m not surrounded by lunatics, which certainly helps.”

There's tons more of the interview here!

Sydney White Theater count

Sydney White theater count

According to Box Office Mojo, Sydney White will have a (limited) wide release Friday at only a little more than 1,900 theaters.

That is a very low number for a movie to have, most are released at over 2,000 theaters. Just so you know:

Big Fat Liar: 2,534
What A Girl Wants: 2,964
She's the Man: 2,631
Hairspray: 3,121

With this theater number and the little amount of promotion and buzz the movie is getting could mean the opening weekend for this movie could struggle to get past the single digits.

There are four other wide releases on Friday, but I know what my choice is!

Baltimore Sun wants more attention for Amanda

The Baltimore Sun seems to really like Amanda and wrote an article detailing why Sydney White and Amanda aren't exactly everywhere.

Maybe if it was a slasher film starring the careening train wreck known as Lindsay Lohan, or a dumb, dumb, dumb sitcom remake starring Jessica Simpson, people would already be lining up to see it. Unfortunately, Sydney White is just a gentle, funny comedy directed at teens, starring someone with real talent and charisma. No wonder Hollywood doesn't know what to do with it.

I agree with what he says. Celebrities like Amanda don't get the attention they deserve.

And if you saw the show today, they asked the question I submitted on Myspace! My username is Wonderboy and I asked her what 3 things she couldn't live without and she said her sidekick so she can keep in tough with her family and friends, and lip gloss, and jokingly, one of the dorks in the audience. I was so excited, I don't know what it would be like if I met her in person.

Bynes felt ugly and admits she's not perfect

In case you missed her appearance this morning, The Early Show posted an article detailing Amanda's interview for Sydney White.

Image Hosted by PicturePush

Did you know she is a comic book fanatic?

I grew up loving Archie comics and I was obsessed and I collected them," she told Hannah Storm. "I have like 400. I still have them. I, basically, when I was meeting to do this movie, said 'What if my character had a comic book, you know, obsession?' So they added it in and now my character is a comic book freak as well, so it kind of makes her relate to dorks.

Or that she felt ugly as a teen?

When I was 13, when all the girls were, you know, turning into women and looking cute, I felt very awkward. I went on Accutane, which actually really helped me. Six months while I was on it, my face was so red and it dries you out from within. So I felt really awkward and I never went to the movies with my friends because I felt so ugly. I felt, you know, like I was so -- I felt hideous.

Even though she's a huge star, she still doesn't see herself as perfect but won't be found in rehab anytime soon either.

"I think that I really believe that you don't have to be perfect in order to, you know, be an actress or be whatever you want to be," she said. "Also, I really feel like if you put your mind to something you can achieve it, you know?"

"I feel all those other girls are so talented and I'm just lucky to be doing what I'm doing and I'm definitely not perfect but -- I don't know, I guess I have strict parents who I, you know, don't want to disappoint and I look up to them, and other than that I'm really not perfect," she said. "I'm not that cool."
